Water Based Fire Protection System
Firefighting system is provided to cover the entire area consist of pipe network, fire pump, controllers, sprinklers, the entire pipe network being pressurized with water to the system pressure. In case of fire in the protected area and the temperature reaches to the rated temperature of sprinkler, the sprinkler bulb burst automatically, and the water will be flooded in the area of fire, and will be controlled and extinguished. Also by means of fire extinguisher, fire hydrant and fire hose cabinet which are located in all areas, fire shall be extinguished through manual operation of these equipment, due to the pressure drop in the system piping, automatically the fire pump system which is connected with the firefighting network will start as soon as the pressure reaches the pre- set pressure level. However fireman can get the supply of water from hydrant which is located outside the building and can be their fire hoses on the landing valve installed inside the fire hose cabinet. In the event of shortage of water in reservoir, fire trucks can supply water through fire department connection going to the system piping network. So that the operation continue till the entire fire will be put- off.It is designed to permit trained personnel to engage in fire destruction operations within a structure. It provides a water source at a reasonable distance from any potential hazard. They are installed in structures to increase the static water pressure within a water-based system. They are capable of performing as the agent directly on the fire or in a manner that completely floods the area of the fire before it can expand beyond the incipient stage.
